Elder Candidate: Amgad Zaghloul (new)

Amgad graduated from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln before moving to Cedar Rapids in 1999. He
and his wife Jenny have attended New Covenant since 2005 and have four children: Joey, Norah, Lena and Josh.  They enjoy spending time together as a family and sharing meals, taking walks and bike rides, and having good conversations. Amgad enjoys cars and basketball, as well as learning about leadership.

He served on the Elder Board in 2018-2024, including as chairman during our transition to
the new governance model in FY2024. Those who know him well describe him as a strong leader who is full of conviction, intentional, encouraging, kind and gentle. Amgad became a Christ-follower in 2004 from a Muslim background. His favorite Bible verse is Hebrews 12:1-2 because it reminds him of the big picture of all that God has done for the world and for him personally. “This verse encourages me to keep moving forward in any circumstance that I am facing while focusing on Jesus! He is so good!”

Elder Candidate: Kiron Madasu (re-elect)

Kiron and his wife, Madhuri, have attended NCBC for 17 years, becoming members in 2012. They are founding members of the Indian Christian Fellowship, where Kiron uses his gifts of teaching and encouragement. Kiron and his family have volunteered in various ministries over the years and he has enjoyed serving the Lord and New Covenant on the Elder Board over the past three years. Kiron also serves on the Board of Directors for Keys to Living.

He enjoys playing tennis, following current affairs, vacations and spending time with family. Kiron’s favorite Bible verse is Philippians 4:6: "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God."
